Market survey for Promotional Video (Questionnaire)
For my research, I wanted to find out what my target audience is. The way I have gathered my results was through a survey of eight questions, of Nexgen Level 3 year 2 students. I think this was a perfect survey group because they are studying games and most of them are gamers themselves.

My results from my questionnaire show that more people are into First Person Shooter (FPS) games, with another high choice of games being Puzzle games, however, not many people are interested in Massively Multiplayer Online games (MMO) and other genres not mentioned in the questionnaire. Therefore, during filming at Belong, I will need to focus on getting footage of FPS, along with other popular genres too such as Puzzle games and Role Playing Games (RPG) such as Final Fantasy and Fallout.
What kind of snacks would you game with?

My results from my questionnaire show that the preferred snack for gamers is crisps and biscuits, however, a number of participants said they do not snack whilst gaming. Due to this, I will focus more on the gaming aspect of the company, rather than the food it sells. However, I will record a few seconds of their snacks and try to get crisps, biscuits, and drinks within these shots.
What kind of music do you listen to whilst gaming?

My results show from my questionnaire that the most popular type of music for gamers is Rock, closely followed by in-game music. I can understand why people like rock music, as it is heavy and aggressive, however, this is not the feel I am looking for in my promotional video. Therefore I will either make my own upbeat music or use a different genre.
How many hours a week do you game?

My results show from my questionnaire that most people game for 6-10 hours a week. 6-10 hours a week is quite a high amount of time spent on gaming and therefore, indicates my survey group is a relevant group to gather my data from and relevant to my target audience.
How old are you?
My results show from my questionnaire that most of the respondents are aged 18+, which is excellent as some FPS games are pegi rated 18. Therefore I will focus my main target audience to be 18+.

The results from my questionnaire show that most gamers prefer to game at home, but if there were more gaming arenas, and the gamers were aware of this, the gamers might use the arena and participate.

The results from this question show that the majority of gamers surveyed like to play with their friends and at home. This shows if their friends are free the gamer may choose the option with their friends. This suggests that there the arena could be a great idea for socializing and competing with their friends and making new friends.

This research shows that not all gamers would go to Belong, but it also shows that there may be a niche market for this arena.
Overall, my survey shows that the gamers that are likely to use Belong are interested in RPGs (Role-playing games) and FPS (First-person shooters). For my promotional video, I will need to focus on these types of games in my footage.
